For anyone who has never played bowls, Short Mat Bowling is a great way to start.

We are affiliated to Gloucestershire Short Mat Bowls Association (GSMBA)

And English Short Mat Bowls Association (ESMBA)

We enter 2 teams into the County Winter League and some Bishops Cleeve players are in the County Team

We also run a 2 Wood Pairs Competition within the Club throughout the winter season

During the winter months, when the bowling green cannot be used, our members move into the cosy Clubhouse to play Short Mat Bowls .... But it’s not as short as the title suggests. The mats are 45 feet long! We’ve got two of them, so even if lots of members turn up on Club afternoons or evenings, there’s always an opportunity to play.
