Opening Times


Summer Season

The outdoor bowling season runs from April to September, the exact dates for the opening and closing of the green being decided by the Executive Committee and printed in the Membership Cards & the Fixtures List.


Monday & Friday evenings are Club Nights, being open from 6.00pm until 10.00pm.

At all other times, except for when a match or green maintenance is in progress, members may book the green for roll ups in two hour sessions between 12.00 noon and dusk.




Winter Season

The green is closed during the winter period, which runs end of September to the middle of April. Short mat bowling then takes place inside the Clubhouse.

Monday evenings are our internal Club League nights, 6.00pm to 10.00pm.

Friday evenings are Club Nights, 6.00pm to 10.00pm. Members & Guests welcome

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoons, 1.30pm  to 4.30pm (two sessions) are Members roll ups.




Bar Opening Times


Summer Season

    Weekends:

Saturday & Sunday afternoon matches - 2.00pm until 6.00pm

Sunday morning (when matches are taking place) - 11.30am until 2.00pm

Sunday morning (when no matches taking place) - 12.00pm until 2.00pm

    Midweek:

Evening Matches - 6.00pm until 10.00pm

Monday & Friday Club Nights - 6.00pm until 10.00pm

Midweek afternoon matches against touring teams or County matches - 12.30 to 6.30pm

The Bar will not be open for Ladies' or Senior's midweek matches, unless requested


Winter Season

The Bar will be open Monday & Friday nights - 6.00pm until 10.00pm


Social Evenings

Social evenings are arranged throughout the year. On these evenings the Bar will be open and the opening  

hours will be advertised on the advertisement for the Social evening.


NOTE: If there are only a small number of people in attendance at the Club, less than five, then the Bar Manager has the authority, designated by the Management Committee, to close the bar earlier than the specified times.




Club Uniform


There are Three modes of dress for bowling on the Green:


Roll Ups:

This is informal bowling on the Green between Club Members on a friendly basis, not involving a match or competition. No specific uniform is stipulated, however bowling shoes must be worn on the Green. These are smooth soled and can be purchased from all bowls suppliers and other footwear and sports outlets. Shorts may be worn, but they must be. smart NOT Beachwear/ Athletic/Building Site



Greys:

Unless specified otherwise, these are worn for Seniors, Midweek matches and the early rounds of Club and County Competitions. Greys consists of Grey flannels/skirts, club shirt, bowling shoes. The Competition Rules will specify the dress code.



Whites:

For Weekend matches, Opening/Closing of the Green, Finals Day and later stages of County Competitions. Also if representing the County. Other events may require Whites, but these will be well published. Whites consists of White Flannels/skirt, club shirt, bowling shoes.




The yearly fixture card and match selection sheet will confirm the mode of dress required for each match listed.

Wet weather dress consists of white waterproof leggings and overjacket. A white pullover can be worn with the club shirt. White conventional headgear is also acceptable. In the absence of a club shirt, a white shirt and club tie may be worn.
